Welcome to Plants with Purpose
We are an independent nursery based in Perthshire, Scotland, selling an eclectic mix of plants not commonly found in the chain garden centres, but popular with anyone who likes to eat their garden or loves wildlife.
Herbs, culinary and medicinal, perennial vegetables and unusual annual ones too. Lots are garden perennials we happen to find tasty and nutritious.
Over the years wild flowers noted for their value to bees, butterflies other insects and birds have been added to the collection.
How we grow
We grow almost everything ourselves, from seed, cuttings or division. We grow plants to suit our climate, and in their natural season, but are willing to make exceptions for some tender aromatic herbs such as scented leaf pelargoniums.
All our plants are grown in peat free compost and without any toxic sprays. We make our own plant food from nettles and comfrey and use organic seaweed spray to feed our plants.
